Evolved

The first of Dans new print works after a long break from printmaking.

Vibrant colours and a rich mix of iconic symbols, tell the story of the history of man. This print is mixed media using a small raised frame and includes real razor blades, gold and silver leaf and varnishes. The paper is torn to the edge of the image.

The lower left section of the image has a framed collection of butterflies that pokes fun at the human obsession with collecting, and possession. Life and death are portrayed here as the necessary and natural part of evolution. Skulls and bones are shown like the finds of an archaeological dig.

Please note that all Dan Baldwin prints are lovingly packaged and shipped directly from the printmaking studio due to the delicate nature of many of them so please allow for an extra day or so for delivery.
